3D Geometry
In this section, I will learn about what attributes a triangular prism and a rectangular prism has.
What is an attribute?
An attribute is a fancy word that we use when we want to describe something. Attributes can belong to people, places or things. It is used to describe something. For example, being friendly is an attribute you may have. Having red, blonde, black, or brown hair are other examples of attributes. Shapes also have attributes and we are going to learn about two special shapes and their attributes: triangular prisms and rectangular prisms.

Triangular Prisms
These 3 dimensional shapes are also called triangle based prisms. So what makes a triangular prism a triangular prism? Let's take a look at its key attributes:

Rectangular Prisms
These are also 3 dimensional shapes and they also have another name that they go by: rectangle based prisms. Like their cousins the triangular prism, a rectangular prism also has special attributes that make it what it is:

Practice Questions
Choose one of the following to complete:
1) Use a Venn Diagram to compare the triangular and rectangular prisms. Place the attributes that they have in common in the center and place the attributes that are different on their respective sides.
2) Find 3 items in the classroom that are triangular prisms and 3 items in the classroom that are rectangular prisms.
3) Build a skeleton using modelling clay or tooth picks/marshmallows to show a triangular prism and a rectangular prism.
